The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continued to advance against the ISIS in the Southwestern districts of the town of Manbij in Northeastern Aleppo, capturing more strategic centers in the town, SDF's spokesman said Wednesday.
"The SDF, mainly comprising of Kurdish fighters, beat the ISIS back from Manbij traffic police building after hours of on non-stop clashes," Shirwan Darvish said, adding, "The SDF fighter, meantime, entered two neighborhoods of al-Karameh and al-Hazaweneh."
He further added that the SDF fighters are now engaged in fierce clashes with the ISIS.
In relevant developments on Monday, the SDF launched its offensives on ISIS positions near the terrorist-held town of Manbij in Northeastern Aleppo, inflicting major losses on the militants.
The SDF, mainly comprising of Kurdish fighters, hit the ISIS defense lines in the Northern and Southern flanks of Manbij, aiming at tightening the siege on the town.
The SDF combatants are resolved to penetrate into the defense lines of the ISIS from the Northern and Southern sides of the town and prevent the flow of fleeing terrorists who failed battles in Eastern and Western sides of Manbij on Sunday, FNA reported.
