The SDF fighters took control of al-Matahen square after seizing back Manbij city's silos and they have now over 50 percent of the city under their control.
The media reports said after the SDF took control of silos in the Southern part of Manbij, they are now advancing towards the city center and the clashes are underway in two Eastern and Western battlefronts.
The SDF managed to take control of the silos of the city of Manbij from the ISIL as they are now very close to the city center.
Informed military sources announced earlier on Sunday that were only two kilometers away from Manbij city center.
The sources reiterated that mines and IEDs (improvised explosive devices) laid down by the ISIS terrorists have slowed down the SDF fighters' further advances.
Reports said on Saturday that the SDF fighters continued to advance against the ISIL in the Southern entrance of Manbij and captured more districts of the town after hours of non-stop battle.
"The SDF fighters seized the Southern entrance of Manbij after capturing the nearby Grain Silos from the ISIS)," the sources said, adding, "However, the Syrian Democratic Forces did not stop there; instead, they pushed further North and won back Shariah School, which left scores of the militants dead or wounded," FNA reported.
