“The Russian Air Force carried out over 60 airstrikes in a matter of 5 hours over Northern districts of the Aleppo provincial capital on Saturday night,” said the source based in Aleppo City, Al Masdar reported.

However, the Russian airstrikes were not limited only to the provincial capital, as they also conducted attacks on several villages under control of terrorist groups in the ‘Anadan Plains and Handarat Mountains in Northern Aleppo. The Russian Air Force has now turned their attention to the Al-Ma’ala Farms near the Handarat Farms.

In other side, the Syrian army continued its advances in the Northern part of Aleppo after kicking off a new phase of special military operations there.

The army units advanced in Bani Zeid towards the residential areas in Al-Zahra and the surrounding areas of Rasoul Azam Mosque.

The Syrian army inflicted heavy losses on the Takfiri terrorists' military grid and killed scores of them in the early hours of the battle. 

On Saturday, the Syrian Army and popular forces engaged in heavy fighting with the terrorist groups across the different neighborhoods of the Northern city of Aleppo, inflicting heavy casualties on them.

The Syrian soldiers, Liwa al-Quds and National Defense Forces, backed up by the Syrian and Russian fighter jets, stormed the militants' strongholds in Jamiyat al-Zahra neighborhood, al-Lairamoun industrial area, the road connecting Western countryside of Aleppo to Jamiyat al-Zahra and near two small towns of Qabtan al-Jabal and Dar al-Izzah, which not only left scores of the terrorists dead or wounded but destroyed their military equipment in large scale.

The terrorist groups, mainly al-Islamiyeh battalions, detonated several bomb-laden tunnels to slow down the government forces' advances in Western districts of Aleppo but the army and its allies repelled their attacks.

Reports said earlier on Saturday that the Syrian Army troops and its popular allies, in large-scale joint operations, struck the terrorist groups' positions in Northern Aleppo, pushing back the militants from more positions in the region.

Syrian soldiers, National Defense Forces and Liwa al-Quds (Palestinian paramilitary) launched their assault from several directions in Northern Aleppo, striking the terrorist groups' positions near Handarat and in al-Zahra, al-Khalediyeh, Bani Zeid, and al-Lairamoun districts inside Aleppo.

The Syrian pro-government forces pushed the militants back from their positions and captured the Aleppo Cotton, Sarheel Factory, and several sites in the al-Zahra district, FNA reported.
