Floods, triggered by recent continuous rains, swept through southern parts of China, state media reported on Sunday.
Rescuers transferred around 10 local people who were trapped in a residential house by water in Huang Gang city, Hubei province, China's state television CCTV reported.
In Jiangxi province, floods damaged farmland and stranded cars in the street.
Local firefighters were dispatched to evacuate local people to safety, it said.
Torrential rains have also affected south-western Chongqing, leaving five people dead, CCTV said.
China's National Meteorological Center continued to issue a yellow alert for rain and said torrential downpours were expected to hit parts of southern China until Monday afternoon.
