'Apocalyptic' storms and flash floods in south-east France have killed 16 people, left more than 30,000 homes without electricity and stranded hundreds of British holidaymakers.
Entire roads were worn away by torrents of muddy water which destroyed peoples' homes, washed away cars and caused widespread travel disruption across the once-pristine area of the French Riviera.
