According to the Al-Alam reporter, heavy fighting is underway in the center of al-Qusayr, while units of the Syrian army are trying to enter the northern neighborhoods of the town still held by terrorists.
Clashes also continue in several suburbs of the town as the army is moving through the residential neighborhoods and villages and clears them of terrorists one by one.
The fighting for al-Qusayr, which straddles strategic supply routes important for the militants, started on Sunday after the army surrounded the area and successfully entered the town.
The command center of the al-Nusra Front has been destroyed in the battle and the army has taken control over the city center and municipality building.
