ISIS terrorists could disguise themselves as homeless people to plant bombs on underground trains, leading politicians have warned.

Officials have warned that ISIS extrimist could take advantage of the current cold snap to blend in amongst the hundreds of homeless people who sleep rough in tube stations in winter.

A report by French politicians released today raised concerns that terrorists would “easily blend in” at Paris Metro stations, leaving them free to plant bombs on trains packed with commuters.

The dire warning comes in the light of the horrific Paris massacre last November, when ISIS gunmen slaughtered 130 people at venues across the French capital.

It also raises the prospect of a similar threat to the London Underground at a time when Britain is enduring below freezing temperatures, with the mercury set to hit -15C tonight.

Today Paris senators Alain Fouche and Francois Bonhomme released a 50-page report detailing the threats their city faces in light of the November massacre.

In it they wrote: “Terrorists can get in by blending with the homeless people that sleep in the Metro at night, then seize the opportunity to carry out any number of attacks. They could sabotage the stations or install explosives.”

The senators stressed that the warning was not intended to “chase out” the homeless, but to highlight security loopholes in the French capital's transport network.

They suggested setting up more shelters for homeless people, to keep them out of underground stations, and installing more CCTV on the network to help combat the threat.

France continues to be on high alert following the November attacks, with security services working around the clock to thwart any future terror plots.

The state-owned train company SNCF has announced that security cameras which can predict terror attacks by monitoring suspicious behaviour and luggage could eventually be rolled out across the country as part of a raft of preventative measures.

Last month airport-style security gates were installed at Paris’ Gare du Nord station - which is the main terminal for Eurostar services going to and from Britain - at a cost of 1.7 million pounds a year.

However some experts dismissed the extra security as “terror theatre”, saying that it will have no practical effect, Express reported.
