Heavy rain caused floods across the state of Louisiana on Friday, Al-Alam News Network reports.
One man was reportedly killed due to the floods, local news reported, and a witness told authorities that the man had slipped into a flooded ditch.
Rescue workers on boats could be seen helping two boys who were chest high in flooded water and taking them to safer ground.
According to local news sources some 140 active water rescues have been carried out, mainly in Tangipahoa.
Sandbags are being loaded onto trucks and placed at locations in the hopes of holding back the rising waters.
Residents in lower elevation areas have been asked to evacuate to higher ground as the rain continues to drench the region.
