Iraqi Security forces are preparing launch the second phase of their operations after liberating Khalidiya Island in eastern Ramadi, Anbar Operations Command announced on Tuesday.
The commander of Anbar Operations Major General Ismail al-Mahalawi said, “Security forces are preparing launch the second phase of their operations after liberating Khalidiya Island in eastern Ramadi. This phase will witness the liberation of Ramadi Island that includes Albu Ali al-Jassim, Albu Assaf and Albu Ziab in northern Ramadi.”
Mahalawi added, “Security forces destroyed dozens of IEDs, hideouts and tunnels that were used by ISIS in Khalidiya,” Iraqi News reported.
