Barbaric ISIS terrorists could be planning deadly terror attacks on Westerners in and around the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur, the Australian government has warned.
Malaysia has been on high alert since twisted Daesh militants launched a bomb and gun attack in Indonesia's capital Jakarta in January, leaving seven people dead.
The prime minister of Malaysia last month declared that the twisted terrorists now pose a “very real” threat to his country after the group issued a fresh warning detailing how the Muslim-majority nation was now on their hit-list.
Malaysia had also arrested a suspected militant who confessed to be planning an attack in the country.
But now Australia has issued its own warning that the Asian nation as it recommended Australians avoid travel to the coastal region of eastern Sabah, where the beaches and islands are popular with foreign tourists and diving enthusiasts.
It comes just days after the British Government warned its own citizens against "all but essential" travel to key tourist destinations in Malaysia.
A travel advisory post on the Australian government website read: “Terrorists may be planning attacks in and around Kuala Lumpur.
"Attacks could be indiscriminate and may target Western interests or locations frequented by Westerners.”
Malaysia's Foreign Ministry said it noted the travel advisories and would keep foreign missions informed on security developments.
A ministry spokesman said: ”We also acknowledge the fact that foreign missions are at liberty to provide their own assessment of the security situation in their host countries albeit the fact that it may not be accurate or gives a true reflection of the situation.”
Last month saw ISIS release a sickening video which showed fighters from the militant group Katibah Nusantara speaking under the ISIS logo - the first threat from the savage regime in the Malay language.
The video warned: "If you catch us, we will only increase in number but if you let us be, we will be closer to our goal of bringing back the rule of the Khalifah (caliph)."
Malaysian authorities have detained more than 150 suspects linked to ISIS in the past two years, including some who were allegedly plotting attacks in Kuala Lumpur, Express reported.
