Addressing a Q & A meeting with Iranian university students in Tehran a few hours ago, Ayatollah Khamenei said in response to the question if Iran would give up campaign against the arrogant powers following a nuclear deal that struggle and campaign against conceited powers is a Quranic lesson and order that would never be defied by Iran.
He said Iran could never stop the struggle against the arrogant powers and still be called the Islamic Republic.
"Campaign against the arrogant powers and hegemonic system is one of the tenets and essence of the revolution," he said, and cautioned, "We would not be subordinate to the Quran if we stop campaign against the arrogance."
And the leader added that "the US is the complete instance of arrogance".
"Get yourselves ready for continuing campaign against the arrogance," Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated.
His remarks came as Tehran and the six world powers are in final days of marathon talks to strike a nuclear deal and after Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif complained that change in the stances of the G5+1 and the West's excessive demands have prevented attainment of a nuclear deal.
Zarif then called on the US-led Western powers to make up their minds and choose between striking a final deal and keeping the sanctions in place.
The Supreme Leader further stated that the US and reactionary Arab regimes in their confidential meetings acknowledge Iran's extraordinary spiritual clout in the region, and said "the Saudis have been pounding Yemen for (over) 100 days in revenge for this very influence".
He blasted the UN Security Council for keeping mum on the Saudis' massacre in Yemen in the last several months, and said they have only issued a "shameless resolution".
"The UN Security Council just issued one of the most shameless resolutions ever, which condemned the ones who are bombed instead of those who drop the bombs," the Iranian Supreme Leader lamented.
