Israeli crimes in Gaza and Palestinian pains

Since July 8, the Israeli regime has launched a military campaign against the people of the Gaza Strip, killing nearly 190 Palestinians and wounding more than 1,300 others. Hundreds of Palestinian homes also were destroyed during the Israeli airstrikes.

This is while the military machine of Tel Aviv failed to target any member of the Palestinian resistance movements including Hamas in Gaza.

Reports show most of the victims of the attacks on the blockaded coastal territory were children and women.

After talking with US President Barack Obama on phone on Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said ‘no international pressure will keep us from acting’ against Palestinians and that there is no redline for the regime in its ongoing attacks on Gaza.

This is a fact that Israel is not under international pressure, but second part of the comment made by Bibi is worrisome.

There are speculations in the Israeli military that the regime may cut the access of Gazans to water and electricity in the coming days to break their resistance. This would be a crime against humanity hurting the people’s sentiments.

More than 1.7 million people are living in the 360 square-km Gaza—the world’s most densely populated zone.

More than 75 percent of Gaza’s population took refuge in the area after 1948 Palestine War, during which the Israeli regime occupied most parts of Palestinian land.

Indeed, Palestinians are and were suffering from two forms of displacement.

Firstly, as is said Palestinians were forced to flee their Homes in 1948. And now, once again Palestinians in Gaza are leaving their homes following the recent Israeli attacks, although they are under blockade from sea, land and air and have no place to take refuge.

Gaza has been blockaded since June 2007. The blockade has caused a decline in the standards of living, unprecedented levels of unemployment, and unrelenting poverty.

Maybe these pressure amazingly increased the coefficient of resistance in Gaza people. The US and Western states have announced their support for Tel Aviv, saying “Israelis have a right to defend themselves.”

The only means in the hand of Palestinians against Israeli attack are hand-made rockets or missiles they received from other states to defend themselves. In contrary, Israelis use American-made F-16 fighter jets, heavy artilleries and warships to fire on children, women and men in Gaza. Figures show no Israeli is killed during the ongoing fire exchange between the Israelis and Palestinian fighters. In military science, this is not a military balance. This is called a one-sided war for massacring unarmed people.

Now the Palestinian Authority and its president Mahmoud Abbas should open  legal cases in international courts against the crimes committed by Israel and not be afraid of the threats of Tel Aviv and Washington because global public opinion is turning in favor of the Palestinians.

No serious actions have been taken against Israel by the international community so far. Islamic states should take initiative and hold an urgent meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on the Israeli crimes in Gaza.
