The Lebanese Army has confiscated large quantities of bombs and ammunition discovered in a vehicle in the northern town of Shadra.
The Saturday discovery came after army soldiers became suspicious of the automobile, a silver Renault, at a military checkpoint at the entrance of the town, the National News Agency reported.
After conducting a routine search of the suspicious vehicle, the officers discovered the weapons and arrested the driver, who was identified in the report only as Mohammad R.
The Lebanese Army then took immediate measures to block the roadway to the city and brought a military expert to inspect the vehicle and its load.
