Army operation is also continuing in several cities including Aleppo and al-Qusayr on Friday with several deaths reported among both sides.
The army was successful in clearing some of the border areas between Syria and Lebanon from terrorists and armed rebels. This victory will help security forces run their operations effectively within next two days too.
In other events, two shells slammed in the Damascus airport setting a fuel tank on fire, the state-run Syrian news agency SANA reported.
One shell heavily damaged a commercial plane on the tarmac, the report added. Despite the incident, the flights at the airport continued as normal, said the agency quoting an unnamed official.
Syria has been struggling with a US-backed insurgency which began in March 2011 as a protesting movement but turned to be a cover for terrorist groups including al-Qaeda and al-Nusra Front.
On Tuesday, US officials said that the White House is going to directly arm the militants to topple Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s government.
