Armed terrorists fighting the government forces in Syria have abducted around 48 women and children, moving them to an unknown location, al-Alam reports.
The incident took place on Thursday when the armed men attacked a bus carrying local people from al-Fua and Kafarya villages to the Syrian capital, Damascus.
In the northern city of Aleppo, the Syrian army cleared the al-Ashrafiyya district from foreign-backed militants as the government forces continue to advance against the terrorists in the old part of the city.
Meanwhile, two senior militant commanders have been killed in attacks carried out by Syrian army on the terrorists in the flashpoint city.
Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March 2011. Many people, including large numbers of security personnel, have been killed in the violence.
The Syrian government says the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country, and there are reports that a very large number of the militants are foreign nationals.
