Foreign backed militants in Syria have used children as human shield in the northern city of Aleppo, Al-Alam reports.

The children were among 30 civilians taken hostage by the militants on Tuesday in al-Sabil neighborhood of the city, located about 355 kilometers (220 miles) north of Damascus.

In the latest terrorist attack in Aleppo, the terrorists have shot dead the brother of Syrian parliament member Ahmad al-Hamza.

Meanwhile, an explosion has been reported in a factory used by anti-government militants to make hand-made bombs in the eastern city of Deir Ezzor.

Our correspondent in Syria says no one survived the explosion.

The Syrian forces also have killed several armed men during an operation in the city.

In northwestern city of Idlib, many militants were killed in an operation carried out by Syrian army on Wednesday.

Many people have been killed in Syria since unrest hit the country in March 2011.

The Syrian government says the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country, and there are reports that a very large number of the militants are foreign nationals.
