Dozens of Tunisians have been among the terrorists killed in recent clashes between Syrian government forces and the foreign-backed militants near the international airport of the northern city of Aleppo, a report say.

Citing a local unnamed source, a Tunisian radio station said on Thursday that more than 50 percent of victims were recognized as Tunisian nationals.

Reports say at least 132 “terrorists” have been killed during the recent airstrikes carried out by Syrian warplane on a militant hideous near the airport.

The source added that four of the Tunisian victims were the members of the terrorist Al-Nusra Front, an al-Qaeda affiliate fighting government troops in Syria.

Mohammad Haddad, the head of a Tunisian human rights body, also called on the government to launch an investigation into the presence of Tunisian nationals in the Syria unrest.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March 2011. Many people, including large numbers of security personnel, have been killed in the violence.

The Syrian government says the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country, and there are reports that a very large number of the militants are foreign nationals.
