Commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has lashed out at Israel for carrying out an attack on a military research center in Syria, saying that resistance and retaliation are the only ways to counter the Zionist regime.
“The Zionist regime can only be dealt with through resistance and retaliation,” IRGC Commander Major General Mohammad-Ali Jafari told reporters in Tehran on Sunday.
He added that brutality and aggressiveness are among the main characteristics of the Israeli regime.
On January 30, the Syrian Army said in a statement that two people were killed and five others injured in an Israeli airstrike on a scientific center in Jamraya, located 25 kilometers (15 miles) northwest of the capital Damascus.
The IRGC commander expressed hope that the strong Syrian nation and state would resist the pressures and injustices and “give an appropriate response to the aggression at the proper time.”
