Russian deputy foreign minister described on Thursday the approach adopted by the US administration against the Iran Nuclear Deal as a sign of Washington's irresponsibility.

(IRNA) -- US approach against the 2015 nuclear deal and its anti-Iran stance are causes of tension, Sergei Ryabkov said during a meeting held in Moscow with his visiting Iranian counterapart Abbas Araqchi.

Araqchi arrived in the Russian capital this morning to partake in the 2017 Moscow Nonproliferation Conference and hold talks with Ryabkov on various issues, particularly the latest anti-Iran strategy taken by the US President Donald Trump on October 13.

During the Moscow talks, Ryabkov stressed that continuation of negotiations between Russia and Iran is necessary.

Moscow and Tehran, as he underlined, cannot be indifferent to the US irresponsible behavior which has direct effect on procedures.

The Russian official further expressed hope that the deep talks between the two countries would fend off the harmful measures.

Ryabkov also described as so important and precious the the presence of the Iranian delegation in the Moscow conference.

For his part, Iran's Araqchi talked of Washington's measures against the landmark nuclear deal officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), saying that Washington's irresponsible behavior has put the international deal in a new condition.

Despite the fact that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has, so far, confirmed Tehran's faithfulness to the nuclear deal eight times, the US president took a new strategy towards Tehran in a speech on Friday during which he decertified Tehran's commitment to the landmark nuclear agreement and remitted the issue to the Congress to decide about it in 60 days.

Trump's stance against JCPOA has been criticized by many countries, international bodies, political communities and world media.

'We should not let a country decide [solely] for the world,' Araqchi underlined during his remarks, adding JCPOA is 'not a mutual agreement between Iran and the US, but an international deal being approved by the UN Security Council.'

Araqchi's visit to Moscow is taking place within the framework of the regular negotiations between Iranian and Russian officials about different questions including the July 2015 nuclear deal which was signed between Iran and the six world powers (US, Britain, Russia, China and France plus Germany).
