(tasnim) -- During the one-day visit, Zarif and senior Omani officials will discuss regional developments, especially those in Iraq, Syria, Yemen and the Persian Gulf region.
They will also exchange views about ways to expand bilateral ties between Tehran and Muscat and cooperation in the field of energy, including gas transfer from Iran to India.
Back in September, the foreign ministers of Iran, Oman, and India held a meeting in New York to explore avenues for closer relations among the three Asian nations, with the focus on cooperation in the energy sector.
Zarif, his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj, and Oman’s Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah met on September 23, on the sidelines of the 72nd regular session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Among the issues discussed in the meeting was laying gas and oil pipelines through the deep waters in the Sea of Oman and the Indian Ocean to transfer oil and gas from Iran to the other two countries.
