The Russian defense ministry on Friday said that "all the civilians and most of the militants" had left the besieged districts of eastern Aleppo, declaring the evacuation as completed.
Lieutenant General Sergei Rudskoi of the Russian military's General Staff also alleged that "certain western politicians" were implicated in an "information campaign".
Dismissing accusations against Russia and the Syrian army about killing civilians, Rudskoi said talk about high numbers of casualties and thousands of people still trapped was a "lie".
