Commander of the Operation Room of Jeish al-Islam's Second Brigade Ahmad al-Seidawi was killed in the Syrian fighter jets' air raid in Douma city, the main stronghold of Jeish al-Islam in Damascus province.
Field sources said on Wednesday that the Syrian Army troops have started a fresh round of offensives in Eastern Ghouta to complete siege of Douma as the main base of Jeish al-Islam in Damascus province.
"The army forces, in a surprise attack, stormed terrorists' position in the farms West of the town of al-Reihan to extend siege of the terrorists in the town," the sources said.
"The army men captured several farms West of al-Reihan, killing several terrorists," they added.
"The air force fighter jets, for their part, carried out several combat sorties over the bases and positions of the terrorists in Zmelka and Jobar regions in Eastern Ghouta, leaving a number of militants dead," the sources went on to say.
After taking control of Tal (Hill) Kurdi and Tal al-Sawan, the army soldiers started a new phase of the operation in Eastern Ghouta to liberate al-Reihan and the town of al-Shifouniyeh to open their way to the terrorists' main bastion in the region, Douma.
