The source said that Syrian Army forces, backed by several pro-government units, including the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), stormed ISIL defenses near the strategic hilltop of Tal Sawwan, Northeast of Homs province.
Following a series of intense fighting, Syrian Army Forces established control over several hilltops and points located between Jabal Al-Sha'er and Tal Sawwan.
The main objective of this operation in Homs is to recapture Jabal Al-Sha'er and establish control over the Northern road to Palmyra (Tadmur).
As the operation is underway, latest reports from al-Wa'ar district in Homs said that 120 militants, accompanied by their families, have been evacuated from the region to the Northern parts of the province as a result of an agreement with the government.
Tallal al-Barazi, the governor-general of Homs, said that negotiations have been held between the two Syrian sides without any foreign interference to reach an agreement for reestablishment of security and stability in different regions.
He added that non-participation of the UN representative in the reconciliation plans and supporting the Syrian-Syrian talks is unconstructive and surprising.
Sources in al-Wa'ar district in Homs province announced on Monday that the evacuation of militants from the region was delayed after the UN representative did not show up for the final transfer, FNA reported.
