The footage was released on Syria’s official SANA news agency on Saturday, and shows government airstrikes and ground force attacks on militant-held facilities.

Meanwhile, the Syrian government has rejected claims that the terrorists have taken control of the main fortress-like artillery academy of the al Ramouseh quarter in Aleppo.

The government also rejected reports that a group of militants have broken the army's siege around the city and reached enemy lines.

Fierce clashes are underway in and around the northern Syrian city between government forces and terrorists trying to end a siege on militant-held areas.

According to military sources, large numbers of terrorists have been killed and many others sustained injuries in the clashes over the last few days. A large number of vehicles as well as equipment belonging to the militants were also destroyed.

The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that 500 terrorists and government forces were killed in one week of fierce fighting aimed at controlling the strategic city.

Aleppo has been divided between government forces in the west and militants in the east since 2012. Some 250,000 civilians live under siege in Aleppo's militant-held areas since the army cut off the last road into militant districts in early July.

Syria has been gripped by foreign-backed militancy since March 2011. UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura, estimates that over 400,000 people have been killed in the conflict; Press TV reported.
