The Islamic State (ISIS, ISIL,IS and Daesh) media wing “Al-Amaq” reported that the Free Syrian Army (FSA) suffered two dozen casualties during an intense battle in northern Aleppo.

Al-Amaq claimed that these two dozen rebels were killed at the contested town of Kafr Ghaan; however, It did not declare the number of dead they suffered within their ranks.

The Free Syrian Army has not corroborated these claims, nor have they commented on the recent battle with the ISIS at Kafr Ghaan.

Northern Aleppo has been the scene of a long and bloody battle between the Syrian opposition forces and ISIS for the control of Mare, which is a key town near the Bab Al-Salamiyah border crossing into Turkey.

ISIS has been unable to seize this town, despite several wide-scale offensives in the past.
