Five people have been killed and 11 injured in a fire at an apartment building near France’s national stadium, Al-Alam News Network reports.
The cause of Monday’s blaze in the town of Saint-Denis is being investigated, Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said in a statement on Tuesday.
It occurred days before the opening of the European Championship soccer tournament, a month-long event around France that kicks off on Friday when hosts France play Romania at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis.
