"The ISIL burnt eight of its members in a bakery's oven on charge of fleeing battle with the Iraqi army in Rataba region," the sources said, adding, "Then the ISIL (Islamic State , ISIS , ISIL , IS and Daesh) left the burnt bodies of its members in the Mosul's streets to make its militant aware of the terrorist group's harsh response to such cases of treason."
Last week, the ISIL executed 25 people in Mosul by lowering them in a vat of nitric acid.The men had been accused of spying on ISIL on behalf of Iraqi government security forces.
According to witnesses, the 25 alleged spies had been tied together with a rope and lowered in a large basin containing nitric acid until their organs dissolved.
"ISIL terrorist members executed 25 persons in Mosul on charges of spying and collaborating with Iraqi security forces," a source said.
Earlier this month, provincial commanders in Anbar province disclosed that government troops made remarkable advances in Rataba outskirts and were likely to seize back the strategic city any hour now.
"The Iraqi security forces are now only 20 kilometers away from Rataba city," the Iraqi media quoted Commander of Rataba military operations Major General Hadi Zarich as saying at the time.
Major General Zarich said that the ISIL has laid bombs in all bus stations and restaurants along an international highway in the Western part of Anbar province.
"The Iraqi army, volunteer and tribal forces have liberated 60 kilometers of a road between al-Sakar and Rataba city," he added.
