Local firefighters evacuated 44 trapped passengers from a flooded tunnel in Qinglong County in southwest China's Guizhou Province on Thursday night.
Some vehicles were trapped when the tunnel was flooded due to continuous rainfall.
Firefighters arrived at the site, rescuing three passengers trapped on top of a truck with a rope, and 41 others with a pole ladder and ropes.
According to the local government, one of the evacuees has been sent to hospital, Reuters reported.
