He entered Europe pretending to be a Syrian refugee, but this shocking image suggests the suspected Algerian ISIS fanatic was planning to attack the country that had taken him in.
The extraordinary picture was recovered by German police from an Algerian who was arrested at a refugee shelter in the town Attendorn.
The 34-year-old man can be seen posing with a HUGE arsenal cache of weapons and ammunition, grenades, machine guns, gun cartridges and a tactical helmet, but it is not clear where the image was taken.
Police said the man posing in an ISIS-style headband and combats had military training in Syria but arrived in Germany with his family in 2015.
He had already begun the asylum application process.
Intelligence gathered suggest he was part of a terror cell aiming to massacre civilians.
Police swooped on the suspected terrorist when 450 heavily-armed police officers raided properties across Germany, including two refugee centres .
As well as the Algerian pictured and his wife, one man was arrested over fake identification documents.
Critics have long argued that Chancellor Angela Merkel’s open door policy towards refugees could allow terrorists to come into Germany posing as refugees from war and terror.
Hans-Georg Maassen of Germany’s BfV intelligence agency yesterday said November’s terrorist attacks in Paris had shown the ISIS terror group was deliberately planting terrorists among the refugees flowing into Europe.
He said: "We have repeatedly seen that terrorists ... have slipped in camouflaged or disguised as refugees. This is a fact that the security agencies are facing.
"We are trying to recognise and identify whether there are still more ISIS fighters or terrorists from ISIS that have slipped in."
Details of the bureaucratic nightmare emerged as the head of Germany’s domestic intelligence yesterday warned ISIS militants have slipped into Europe disguised as refugees.
Last year, 1.1million asylum seekers arrived in the country and millions are expected this year as a further 91,674 came in January alone.
Today, 70,000 Syrians are headed for the border with Turkey after pro-Assad forces broke a cease-fire, Express reported.
