The clashes began on Sunday after Israeli forces launched a surprise raid on the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
Director of endowments of Al-Aqsa Mosque affairs, Azzam Khatib, said that today saw the worst of the violence which has been taking place at the compound for three days since Sunday.
Khatib said reporter that Israeli police used tear gas, rubber bullets, and stun grenades as they stormed the compound this morning.
Middle East Eye reported that Israeli snipers were positioned on the rooftops of the compound and that at least 17 Palestinians were injured in this morning’s clashes.
