Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham voiced Iran’s readiness for fresh, sincere and profound dialogue with all regional and Muslim countries, MNA reports.

"Détente, creating mutual trust and constructive cooperation are among objectives defined in the Iranian government's foreign policy," Afkham said during her weekly press briefing here in Tehran on Wednesday. "Iran has proved its interactive approach to regional stability during the last two years," Afkham underlined.

Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman reiterated that the Islamic Republic is concerned with stability and peace, as well as holding talks with countries in the region.

Stressing that Iranian government is friendly and peace-seeking rather than belligerent, Afkham said that the country has always been after peace in the past two years and considered terrorism an approach doomed to failure.

She also added that the government has applied efforts to restore peace to the political, economic and cultural structure.

Afkham said that Iranians had shown the world that sanctions were ineffective against Iranian nation, underlining that the respect and attempts for peace and security today was among necessary policies of the international community.

Underlining that dialogue and cooperation with neighboring countries were among top priorities on Iranian government's agenda, Afkham said Iran had all the time called for political solutions to the regional crises and has been after boosting economic cooperation with other countries.

On the reopening of Iran and UK embassies, Afkham said the action was a progressive process that marked a new stage in Tehran-London relations. She underlined that Iran’s ties with Britain could expand on the basis of mutual respect and non-interference, just like ties with other nations.

The thaw in Iran-Britain relations followed finalization of a landmark nuclear deal between Tehran and the Group 5+1, she added.

On the question over possibility of rejecting Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) by the US Congress, Afkham said Iran was not concerned with the issue.

"Iran has done its best, showing enough political will to advance the talks and also readiness to hold constructive talks with the world; Iran considers JCPOA an agreement based on a win-win approach which is an opportunity for the international community as well and one which is welcomed by many sides, countries involved in the negotiations and those who were third parties; now the rejection of the agreement by the US Congress bears no concern for us but for themselves, those who wrongly think the effects of rejecting JCPOA will impose irreparable consequences on Iranian nation."
