"There is no obstacle on the way to develop cooperation between Tehran and Rome in various political, economic, cultural, scientific and tourism fields," President Rouhani said during a meeting with visiting Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni and Economic Development Minister Federica Guidi on Wednesday.
Pointing to the development of cooperation to strengthen stability and security in the region, Rouhani confirmed that the issue of terrorism and insecurity was a 'contagious disease' that did not belong to a specific region.
He underlined efforts made to fight against extremism and violence to prevent its spread and to stop massacre of innocent people, regardless of their nationality or religion.
Regarding nuclear agreement reached between Iran and 5+1, Iranian president said Tehran was feeling a heavy burden on its shoulder.
Touching upon huge capacities of the EU member states, particularly Italy, for fostering relations with Iran, President Rouhani highlighted transfer of capital and technology to Iran and then joint export to regional markets as a priority for Iran in improving its economic ties with the European countries. Pointing to Iran-Italy historical relations, he added there was no obstacle on the way to boost of mutual cooperation.
President Rouhani underlined that the ground was fully prepared for attracting foreign investment in the fields of energy, banking, insurance, industry, transportation, health and sanitation.
Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni conveyed the official invitation letter of Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi to President Hassan Rouhani. "Iran has a key role in establishment of peace and stability in the region and the international community needs Iran's help," he asserted.
Stressing boost of all-out ties between Iran and Italy, Gentiloni for his part said that his country was keen to invest in Iranian projects. Describing the history of trade and commerce between the two countries along the Silk Road as the economic and cultural heritage, Gentiloni urged joint investment of Tehran and Rome for production and export of goods to other regional states.
Italian foreign minister declared his country's readiness to help invest in and transfer of technology to Iran in all fields including the oil and gas industry.
