"Political and security differences have emerged between Saudi Arabia and the UAE over the Syrian crisis," the Arabic-language al-Rai al-Youm news website quoted informed diplomatic sources as saying on Sunday.
The sources noted that Abu Dhabi wants further support for the militant groups in Southern Syria while Riyadh is concentrating on Yemen more.
In May, former Syrian Information Minister Mahdi Dakhalallah underlined that Saudi Arabia is the main cause of instability in the region, and said the Al Saud is afraid of the influential countries of the Middle East.
"Saudi Arabia dreads the powerful countries surrounding the Arab country, specially Iran in the East, Iraq in the North and Yemen in the South," Dakhalallah told FNA.
He underlined that Saudi Arabia is entangled in Yemen's quagmire and the monarchy is trying hard to get out of there, and said, "If the Al Saud continues its stupidity and sends ground force to Yemen, his problems will multiply."
Dakhalallah said no country has been able to occupy Yemen throughout history not only because of its geographical situation, but also due to the fact that the people of Yemen are used to fighting the foreigners.
