Palestinian factions in Gaza refused to extend the ceasefire with Israel, which expired at 0500 GMT on Friday, and Israeli army claimed that resistance fighters in the enclave renewed rocket fire at occupied lands. Hamas said it had fired no rockets.
"All the Palestinian factions, including Hamas, have agreed not to renew the ceasefire because (Israel) is refusing to accommodate our demands, but negotiations continue in Cairo," Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhum told AFP.
The Israeli regime’s 29 days of military attacks against the Gaza Strip, which began on July 8, claimed the lives of nearly 1,900 Palestinians, including more than 400 children, and wounded over 9,500 others.
