A British member of Parliament has censured the prime minister’s continuous favoring of the Zionist regime in its brutal assault on the Gaza Strip, insisting that such support makes the UK complicit in the “wholesale slaughter” of enclave’s Palestinian population.

“By repeatedly championing Israel’s ‘right to defend itself’ above anything else, the UK is seen by many as being complicit in the wholesale slaughter of Palestinian civilians, and thus in violating the Geneva Convention,” MP Jeremy Corbyn wrote in a Wednesday letter addressed to Cameron.

Corbyn further called on the British premier to recall parliament in view of the “serious violations of international humanitarian law taking place in and around the Gaza Strip,” requiring urgent attention.

Pointing to fatalities caused by the Israeli onslaught on the impoverished Gaza Strip, Corbyn pointed to “a moral obligation and a duty” that British lawmakers owe to their constituents to reconvene and properly address the Israeli mass killing in the Palestinian enclave and to bring “those responsible to justice.”

“The intensive Israeli bombardment has now continued for four weeks and that is wholly unacceptable,” the letter read.

Corbyn’s letter also questions Cameron on “Why Britain abstained at the UN Human Rights Council recently when a vote came up regarding a Commission of Inquiry into Israeli actions” and “why the Israeli Ambassador has not been called in for discussions in view of the terrible situation caused by the Israeli bombardment.”

The development comes amid growing worldwide criticism of the Israeli atrocities in Gaza during its nearly month-long assaults on the blockaded sliver where nearly 2,000 Gazans were killed and 10,000 injured.
