Iraqi armed forces spokesman has described the areas around the country’s major oil refinery facility of Baiji in Salahuddin Province as the “graveyard of ISIL elements.”
Major General Qassim Atta made the remarks during a Thursday afternoon press briefing in which he pointed to repeated failure of ISIL’s Takfiri terrorists to approach the Baiji Refinery plant while leaving behind a large number of casualties.
During the press briefing, Gen. Atta also showed reporters live images of the Baiji Refinery and reiterated that Iraqi security forces have once again repelled yet another attempt by foreign-sponsored ISIL terrorists to get closer to the oil facility.
The development comes as ISIL elements and their sponsors, including a number of Western media outlets, have waged a publicity campaign in the past two weeks, claiming that the refinery has fallen in the hands of Takfiri terrorists.
