Thousands of Iraqi people from the southeastern city of Basra continue to volunteer to join the nation’s war on foreign-hatched ISIL terror campaign.

Many volunteers from Basra, most of whom are youth and young adults, have started following Iraqi armed forces in their move towards the northern city of Mosul, which has been targeted by heavily armed al-Qaeda-linked ISIL terrorists in a bid to overtake the key city and spread terror across the Arab nation.

According to an Al-Alam report on Sunday, masses of Iraqis, particularly the youth, have heeded the call of the country’s top religious leader, Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Sistani, to take up arms in a Jihad on Terror effort to defend their country as well as their sacred principles and beliefs.

Meanwhile, leader of southern Iraqi tribe of Bani-Malik, Sabah al-Maliki declared in an address before a massive crowd that that his community is prepared to join the Iraqi armed forces, abiding to the call of Ammar Hakim, another prominent Shia leader in the country.

This is while a Sunni leader in southern Iraq, Mohyel-Ghanem, also emphasized in a speech before his followers that a conspiracy against the entire Iraqi nation is in the works and we should counter it with total vigilance and all of our strength.
Thousands of volunteers from Iraqi southern tribes have begun their journey to Basra in many convoys of various vehicles and heavy trucks while local authorities have been forced to increase the number of centers to register volunteers due to the persisting wave of people reporting to sign up.

According to the report, due to Saudi Arabia’s support of the ISIL terrorist in Iraq, posters and billboards have been installed across the southern Basra Province calling on people to boycott the purchase of all Saudi goods and products.
