Daughter of the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussain has expressed satisfaction over ‘victories’ by extremist groups in their attack on north of the country, including a group led by her uncle.

Iraq has been dealing with a massive insurgency launched by the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Levant in northern parts of the country, especially in Mosul, Tikrit and Kirkuk.

Speakign to the al-Quds al-Arabi newspaper, Raghad Hussain who is Saddam’s oldest daughter, expressed happiness that her uncle, Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri, and his Naqshbandi followers along with the ISIL took up arms against the Iraqi army and government.

She said she was happy that her uncle, who is also leader of the Iraqi Baath party, was successful in uniting other groups, including ISIL, for seizing Sunni-dominated areas of Iraq.

Her comments came as the extremist insurgents have been killing those who refused to cooperate with them, including Sunni Muslims.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has vowed to defeat the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorists, as thousands of Iraqis are flocking to volunteer centers across Baghdad to join the fight against terrorists.

Nearly 1.5 million Iraqi citizens have volunteered to join the country’s armed forces to confront foreign-sponsored ISIL terrorists in their bid to destabilize and take over parts of the nation.

The ISIL has been posting pictures and videos of their assault in Mosul, Tikrit and Kirkuk, some of them showing bodies of Iraqi soldiers cut into pieces.

The terrorist group is composed of Takfiri extremists.

Local Iraqi newspapers say tens of people have been executed by ISIL, including Muslims, Christians and followers of other religious sects that do not abide by the Takfiri intolerance.
