During a Sunday symposium in Damascus organized by the National Union of Syrian Students and dubbed "National, sovereign decision" the senior Syrian official pointed out that one of the most important reasons behind instigating a foreign-backed insurgency war in Syria is the country’s national and independent decision-making policy, viewed by many as a legitimate Arab rights issue.
Al-Zoubi further added that achieving the presidential process by the Syrian nation reflects the country’s adherence to the national and independent decision, emphasizing that the process is an internal Syrian affair that refuses outside intervention by the UN Secretary-General, Washington, Western countries and their instruments in the Middle East region.
The Syrian minister also called on all Syrians to actively participate in the upcoming elections and pick whomever they believe will protect the nation from the terrorism imposed on it.
He further described the idea of boycotting the June 3 presidential election as "Political pessimism."
Syria has been gripped by a foreign-hatched insurgency war since 2011 during which an estimated 150,000 people have been killed and millions more displaced.
