Video, released by militants on the internet, shows a Syrian army chopper using flare to block a rocket fired by militants.
On the video voices are heard chanting and hoping to take down the chopper as a rocket is fired to the air, but it is blocked by the flare.
Flare is an aerial infrared countermeasure used by a planes or helicopters to counter an infrared homing surface-to-air missile or air-to-air missile.
