A new round of talks between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has begun in a basically new format.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi for Tehran and Director-General Yukiya Amano for the IAEA are meeting each other in this round of talks.

An official in the IAEA press service specified that Amano and Araghch would meet one-on-one at first and then experts would joint them and take their seats at the negotiating table.

UN and Iranian negotiators must make concrete progress in nuclear talks on Monday, Amano said at the start of high-level talks in Vienna.

Iran’s Ambassador to IAEA, Reza Najafi also said earlier that the forthcoming talks between Tehran and the UN nuclear agency will focus on issues of "substance."

“During the negotiations, we will talk about everything, but it is not clear whether agreement would be achieved. To achieve an agreement, certain conditions should be met,” Najafi said on Sunday.

Najafi, as the head of Iranian delegation to the talks, will be presented in these two-day talks.

The last round of talks between Iran and the IAEA - the first to take place under the administration of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani - was held on September 27.
