In an interview with Tasnim News Agency on Thursday, Mohammad Javad Zarif said Jews are a minority in Iran and we have never had any hostility toward them and the ones who are problematic are the Zionists.
“Judaism is a heavenly religion and based on our religion and constitution we should respect them,” he said adding that, however, Zionists which are “a small group” should not be allowed to play victim for the sake of their own propaganda and covering up their crimes against Palestinian and Lebanese people.
Iranian foreign minister said, “We have never considered Zionists raised from Judaism and we believe the Zionists have always misused world historic events by playing victim”.
He added, today the world is hearing the “warmongering voice of Zionists” while they are doing all they can to make a warmongering image for Iran.
“We should not let them make such a false image of Iran,” Zarif said.
Zarif said, Iran has always condemned killing of innocent people everywhere in the world and it has also condemned killing of Jews at the hands of Nazis, as it condemns killing and suppressing Palestinians at the hands of Zionists.
The Iranian top diplomat said the Zionists are worried that the world sees Iran’s true peace-loving face and Iran should not let them cover up their own crimes by trying to show Iran as anti-Semitic.
Iran has been a strong voice of opposition condemning Israel’s occupation of Palestine and is among the 32 countries that do not recognize Israel as an entity.
