Sayyari made the remarks during a press briefing on the objectives of the first national conference on new naval Technologies to be held soon.
Asked about the dispatch of Iranian naval fleets to Syrian coastal waters in the case of any possible US attack, he said the Iranian Navy has so far received no order to dispatch naval forces to that region.
He further referred to the recent achievement of the Iranian Navy, saying that the Lavan warship has been overhauled and will join the naval fleet in near future.
Sayyari also said Iran’s naval forces will use their drones in any region if necessary, and stressed, “Navy warships are also equipped with drones.”
The US have been moving its warships closer to Syria, threatening to attack the country based on conflicting reports of an alleged chemical attack near Damascus.
Syria paved the way for a team of UN inspectors to visit several sites which the government reported were targeted by chemical materials.
The inspectors also visited the attacked area in Ghouta which has been occupied by anti-Syria militants for months and was center of the reported attack which US announced as its reason to go for bombing Syria.
The team which left Syria on Saturday said studying their collected evidence could take up to three weeks.
