"As representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran we declare our opposition to any attack or war against Syria," agencies quoted Allaeddine Boroujerdi, chairman of parliament's influential foreign policy committee, as saying on Saturday.
Boroujerdi, who is heading the delegation, said Iran informed the United States that foreign-backed militants fighting against the Syrian government possess chemical weapons.
"Unfortunately the United States did not heed our warning," he said.
Syria's government has denied accusations of using chemical weapons and has provided the UN with evidence of at least three chemical attacks during the last month committed by foreign-backed militants.
Boroujerdi said Iran condemns the use of chemical weapons "by terrorist groups against the Syrian population."
Iran has issued stern warnings against any US-led military action targeting Syria calling on the US to be aware of dire consequences of the attack.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) warned that a US strike would trigger "reactions beyond" Syria and would bolster extremism.
