The army forces continued their operations in the strategic city on Thursday, making advances in its neighborhoods including al-Khalidiya and Bab Houd.
Moreover, the Syrian troops reportedly carried out mop-up operations in al-Qosour, al-Qarabis and Jouret al-Shiyah neighborhoods, killing a number of militants and destroying their weapons and equipment.
In Homs countryside, the army also clashed with militants and destroyed their hideouts and equipment. A number of terrorists were killed and several others injured in the clashes.
Similar clashes took place in the capital, Damascus, with reports saying several militants were killed in Barzeh and al-Manashir areas.
In Aleppo, the Syrian troops destroyed weapons and ammunition belonging to the militants fighting the government of Syria, and inflicted heavy losses on them.
The Syrian army has conducted successful operations against the Takfiri militants over the past weeks.
The conflict in Syria started in March 2011, when pro-reform protests turned into a massive insurgency following the intervention of Western and regional states.
The unrest, which took in terrorist groups from across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, has transpired as one of the bloodiest conflicts in recent history.
