Adnan Mansour told a radio interview on Thursday that Hezbollah has dispatched its forces to the country’s border villages near Syria to protect defenseless residents there, but they never take any part in Syria infighting.
“Lebanon preserves its stance to stay away from Syria crisis, and it does not meddle in any country’s internal affairs, especially Syria,” he added.
Mansour said Lebanon’s government is not responsible for certain groups and individual’s calls on youths to go and fight in Syria.
Hezbollah has repeatedly rejected accusations of sending troops into Syria in support of President Bashar al-Assad government.
Syria has been dealing with an extensive western-backed insurgency since 2011 that has left thousands of people including hundreds of members of security forces dead.
Well-armed terrorist groups in Syria are recruiting mercenaries from across the Middle East and Europe to fight against the legitimate government of the country which is supported by a vast majority of people.
