Army source: Damascus is ‘impenetrable’

Syrian army’s especial forces have managed to make capital city of Damascus impenetrable and the city enjoys high military protection, according a Syrian army’s source.

Syrian Army forces have the potential to repel any terrorist attack, the source told the Al-Quds Al Arabi newspaper, adding that the Army has launched a widespread war against armed terror groups including the so-called Free Army and al-Qaeda affiliated Nosrat Front, Al Alam News Network reported.

According to the report, the military source noted that Syrian army forces are carefully defending the capital city as it is the center of Syria’s power and system.
 
“Thousands of army forces have been deployed to Damascus ready to repel any domestic of foreign attack. These forces include several brigades of Syrian army’s taskforce, particularly the presidential guards forces”, he said.
 
“Some of those brigades are fighting terrorists in Aleppo, Deir ul-Zour, and the vicinities of Damascus, while the Presidential Guards’ 4th Battalion is responsible for protecting west of the capital”, the military source added.
 
“Thousands of security forces have also been mobilized to defend the capital city in the face of any attacks”.
