The SDF fighters captured the village of Ja'abar al-Sharqi after hours of non-stop battle, leaving 38 militants dead and destroying a machinegun-equipped vehicle; FNA reported.
ISIL's positions in Ja'abar al-Sharqi were concurrently bombed by warplanes.
In relevant developments in the province on Saturday, the SDF inflicted major losses on the ISIL and captured two villages of Tariq and Jadi in the Eastern direction of the village of Karvan, killing and wounding tens of militants.
Over 48 ISIL were killed and seven bomb-laden vehicles and two machinegun-equipped vehicles of the terrorists were destroyed in the clashes that lasted for at least 36 hours.
The engineering units started to defuse mines and bombs planted by ISIL in the two newly-captured villages.
In the meantime, fierce clashes erupted between the SDF and ISIL in regions near al-Tabaqa Dam, while the ISIL had called on comrades in Raqqa to dispatch more militants to battlefields.
A Kurdish source said also on Saturday that the SDF managed to push ISIL back from more positions West of Raqqa, killing at least 16 militants and wounding several more.
“The Syrian Democratic Forces hit ISIL's strongholds in the villages of Abu Jiyoub, Tarqa Gharbi and Jaabar, killing a number of ISIL militants and destroying several vehicles,” a SDF spokesman said.
At least 16 ISIL militants were killed and seven ISIL vehicles were destroyed in the attack.
