"The prospect of the nuclear talks is promising, and good steps have been taken to settle the differences," Larijani said in a Saturday meeting with ambassadors of Islamic countries here in Tehran.
He went on to say that Tehran has always tried to achieve a positive result in the nuclear talks, and that the current path is a positive one.
"These talks are rather complicated and have various aspects," Larijani said, adding that Iran is trying to have successful negotiations despite the complexities.
He also expressed the hope that the talks will have a positive outcome for the region and pave the ground for the settlement of differences, stressing that it would ensure sustainable security in the region.
Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France, and Germany) have been negotiating over the past 22 months to end more than a decade of standoff over Tehran's civilian nuclear program once and for all.
The two sides are busy negotiating in the Austrian capital of Vienna to clinch a comprehensive nuclear deal.
On Tuesday, the parties gave themselves an extra week beyond an end-June deadline to nail down details of the long-awaited accord.
