Palestinian Health Ministry says nearly 1,300 people, including more than 290 children, 130 women and 57 senior citizens, have been killed in the ongoing Israeli aggression which started on July 8.

Dozens of Palestinians were killed after Israeli warplanes and tanks hit residential areas and civilian sites across the impoverished region in early hours of Wednesday.

Initial reports say a UN shelter in the north of the impoverished enclave is among the latest sites hit by Israel.

Palestinian officials say Israeli shelling hit the UN-run school used as a shelter in Jabalia. This is the second time in less than a week that the Israeli forces have struck a UN shelter.

The attack left at least 19 Palestinians dead and several others injured.

More than 30 Palestinians have been also killed in separate Israeli bombardments over the past few hours. At least five mosques were also destroyed in overnight strikes on the Palestinian coastal enclave.

Figures also show that over 7,200 people have been also injured in the ongoing onslaught.

The deadly Israeli military attacks against the besieged region have destroyed nearly 5,000 Palestinian houses.

The United Nations (UN) has reported that 215,000 Gazans have fled their homes. As the area is blockaded, most of the Palestinians take shelter in places designated by the UN.

International bodies and human rights groups say civilians account for the majority of the victims of the ongoing Israeli war.

The UN is expected to launch an investigation into the Israeli regime’s war crimes in the Palestinian impoverished territory.
